Mexican Tile

Mexican tiles are functional, beautiful, and practical; they provide a long lasting wall or surface that is easy to care, repair and maintain. You can install Mexican tiles in virtually any area you want and you can enjoy their beauty for many years to come.

The tiles are made from clay dug out of the ground and fired to a temperature at which the clay undergoes chemical changes and becomes permanently hard. Then, the tile is glazed or decorated by hand, and fired once again to give it its final and lively finish; other times, it remains unglazed for a more traditional and earthy look. Each piece has its own character, with no two Mexican tiles in the world being alike, so you can truly enjoy unique and beautiful floorings.

Saltillo Tiles and Super Saltillo Tiles are unglazed clay floor tiles made in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The tile is made from natural clay deposits from that region which is one of the finest natural clay deposits in the world. Briefly, this is the manufacturing process: clay is excavated from the earth, cleaned and sifted. These tiles may vary in color, but the majority range in varying hues of reds, oranges, and yellows; they are available in sizes from 4 inch hexagons to 18" squares. Guanajuato/Lincoln Tiles are very similar to Saltillo Tiles, but they are dark colored. From kitchen backsplashes to patio floors, Mexican tiles work well in almost any application.
